Profile-Pic1

Who are you, and what do you like to learn about? (academically, professionally, and/or personally)

I am a lover of living, learning and growing as a person! I am currently a math educator in Northern Virginia and a graduate student in the Instructional Design program at George Mason University. I love to learn about all things technology, more specifically, technologies that enhance the instructional delivery for teachers.

What hardware do you use to learn? (Eg. smart phone, tablet, laptop, desktop)

I primarily use a laptop. I also use a smart phones and tablet.

What software do you use to learn? (Eg. search engines, mobile apps, social networks, eBooks, digital libraries, wikis, blogs, videos, podcasts)

I use Google, Wikipedia, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Kindle, Nook, Lynda, blogs, podcasts, Twitter, Pinterest and other online websites.

What digital tools do you wish you had access to for learning? (Eg. any graphic organizers, mind-mapping tools, resource management tools, progress tracking tools, design tools, etc.) Why?

It would be nice to have some kind of tool that would combine all of my work data in one place. i.e. grades, notes, comments, assignments, test scores, parent conference information. It would help me keep track of everything in one place. I would also like the ability to import documents from various other software programs and apps.

What might your ideal Personal Learning Environment (PLE) look like?

It would be simple, organized, and easy to use/navigate. I believe that people are more likely to use a tool if it is clearly presented and easy to use. Because it is MY personal learning environment, I would need to have the ability to customize the layout and navigational tools to my liking. I need to feel as though this space is unique to me.
