Who are you, and what do you like to learn about? (academically, professionally, and/or personally)

I’m a student in GMU’s Instructional Design and Learning Technology Program. I came to this program after 16 years working in audit and advisory. Outside of grad school, I like learning about new potential hobbies. In the last couple of years this has included obtaining a wine certification, learning enameling, oil painting, flower arranging, and more.

What hardware do you use to learn? (Eg. smart phone, tablet, laptop, desktop)

I prefer to use my Lenovo laptop, but have also used an iPhone and iPad.

What software do you use to learn? (Eg. search engines, mobile apps, social networks, eBooks, digital libraries, wikis, blogs, videos, podcasts)

I have used LinkedIn Learning for professional learning. For my wine certification, I joined Facebook groups, watched Youtube videos, and downloaded related podcasts.

What digital tools do you wish you had access to for learning? (Eg. any graphic organizers, mind-mapping tools, resource management tools, progress tracking tools, design tools, etc.) Why?

I like Visio for flowcharting and wish I had it on my laptop.

What might your ideal Personal Learning Environment (PLE) look like?

I’m not sure, but thinking about it now, I’d like separate sections for the different types of learning that I do.
