Who are you, and what do you like to learn about? (academically, professionally, and/or personally)

I’m a certified ISO 9001 Lead Auditor and CMMI Associate with over 20 years in Quality Management and Process Improvement. I currently lead the Training Program for the Corporate Quality Office at my firm. I design and develop computer-based learning materials working closely with Subject Matter Experts. I coordinate and manage various training programs to support the implementation and maintenance of industry standards and models like ISO 9001, AS9100, and CMMI. I’m currently in the MEd Instructional Design and Technology program. I’m really enjoying this program and am learning so much that’s immediately applicable to the work I do every day. I like learning to use new tools to support the design and development of instructional materials (e.g., Articulate, Miro, etc.) and checking out various designs other IDs are using. Personally, I like learning about natural health and homesteading.

What hardware do you use to learn? (Eg. smart phone, tablet, laptop, desktop)

Primarily my two laptops – 1 work-issued and 1 personal. I also use my smartphone at times to read articles, blogs, and watch videos.

What software do you use to learn? (Eg. search engines, mobile apps, social networks, eBooks, digital libraries, wikis, blogs, videos, podcasts)

eLearning Heroes site, Google, YouTube videos, podcasts, sometimes blogs

What digital tools do you wish you had access to for learning? (Eg. any graphic organizers, mind-mapping tools, resource management tools, progress tracking tools, design tools, etc.) Why?

Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Character to create animated characters (or maybe just someone who has them and could create automated characters for me :))

What might your ideal Personal Learning Environment (PLE) look like?

A quiet room with a great desk couple of large monitors, laptop with docking station, mouse, standing desk over a treadmill 🙂 As long as I have internet, I’m good.
