Who are you, and what do you like to learn about? (academically, professionally, and/or personally)

I’m Katie. I am a barista/ theatre/ I can never stay in one place. I like to learn about what is going around in the world. Academically I have a strong passion for subjects such as: Sex Trafficking, Rape Culture, juvenile justice system, school to prison pipeline, etc. In regards to professionally, I feel in regards to one of my jobs I have to read a lot of plays to have a vast knowledge of what is going on in the theatre world out there.
For fun, I really like to learn about anything science or just any new from other countries, I also love learning new languages.
So basically a very busy person. I also enjoy my cat a lot.

What hardware do you use to learn? (Eg. smart phone, tablet, laptop, desktop)

My laptop broke the day before school started so I now I just use the desktop computers in the library but once my laptop is fixed I will be using my personal laptop.

What software do you use to learn? (Eg. search engines, mobile apps, social networks, eBooks, digital libraries, wikis, blogs, videos, podcasts)

I love Google Scholar, “Now THIS” (News) , BBC News, Los Angles Times, AJ+ , Facebook links, Lacy Green youtube videos, etc.

What digital tools do you wish you had access to for learning? (Eg. any graphic organizers, mind-mapping tools, resource management tools, progress tracking tools, design tools, etc.) Why?

I really wish I had access to design tools. In this new era of the digital age media design is so important and I feel as though especially on the academic level it would be very useful.

What might your ideal Personal Learning Environment (PLE) look like?

My idea Personal Learning Environment would be calm yet engaging, and open to discussion with collages about topics (such as social issues for example).
